Additional notesTinsley Park Cemetery was opened in 1882, the first burial taking place on 2 June. The cemetery covers 19 acres and to date over 60,200 burials have taken place. At the entrance to the cemetery is a Gothic style chapel where services can be held prior to the burial. An extensive range of music is available to accompany funeral services. Braille and large print Order of Service booklets are also available. A baby memorial donated by SANDS and a memorial commemorating those who have left their remains to Medical Research are sited within this cemetery. Types of graves available New graves are available on lawn sections for up to 3 interments (limited to 2 in some areas) New graves for the interment of cremated remains only Existing family graves can be reopened to allow further interments with the authority of the present grave owner. Areas have been set aside for particular religious denominations, including Roman Catholic and Muslim beliefs. An individual baby area has also been set aside. Please note that all new graves are leased for 30 years, his lease being renewable at the end of this period. All records and plans for this cemetery are retained at City Road Cemetery Offices.
